There has been quite a bit of talk recently on social media discussing the furniture used to perform lash work. Many ideas have been shared regarding comfort for the client, as well as the comfort of the lash artist. Do you use a facial or massage table, or are you more comfortable with a chair? I have used both, and I have some of my own experiences to share with you that may help you decide.
I started out using a facial table to perform my eyelash extension services. What I found, personally, is that unless you invest in a heavy duty facial chair, they can actually be wobbly. This can cause anxiety for your clients that may be a little heavier. When they can sense that their weight may be a bit too much for this type of equipment, they will not be able to relax. We always have a much better experience when our clients can relax!
These are also popular, but once again, if you don’t invest in a more durable table you can run into the same wobbly scenario as the facial bed. The other obstacle is you really can’t get your legs under the table... Hence, you have trouble getting close enough to your client. A headrest extender will help you in this situation. I have used the footrest at the head of the table to give me an additional six to seven inches of legroom. This will help you get under the client’s head.
There also some very pretty barber chairs out there that are amazing to use for lashing. They will usually hold up to 400 pounds. This will make any client comfortable. The nice thing about a barber chair is the multi-function use. You can do hair services, and then change to lash mode in a heartbeat. Other benefits to a barber chair is that they're hydraulic. They can be raised or lowered to accommodate the client’s height. Honestly, I think the barber chair has been my favorite for lashing, so far.
We took a poll, and out of 1778 responses from lash artists 55% used a bed/table and 45% preferred to use a chair. So now you know!
What's your preference? Let us know which is your fav, or share your thoughts in the comments!
Looking to get a recliner anyone have any they love for lashes please include website thanks:)
Hi Kelly,
Below I will provide the link to the Barber Chair I personally use. I love it has plenty of seat space and is comfortable for every size person.
It’s great too, for relaxing in after a long day at work. The easy release bar on the side allows the chair to sit back upright without any effort. I hope you find the perfect chair for yourself.

Hello Leanne,
I have had great success in using a Barber Chair for lashing. They recline almost 180 degrees. They are also equipped to hold more weight and are perfect for our clients who are not comfortable on a facial bed that isn’t constructed to hold excessive weight. When shopping, look for a chair that has the most recline, for your personal comfort.
Best of luck!
Hello!
Could you please include a link to the chair you like for lashing?
There are so many to choose from that I want to make sure I get the right type of chair.
Thankyou!!’
Neat idea using a reclining barbers chair, rather than a massage one, only issue is they do look rather masculine. I’ve been looking at buying one for my startup, do would any of these barbers chairs suit?
Was thinking of getting a barber chair but what do you work off? X
We use the Bellagio chairs from Galaxy MFG. Love them. That’s my 2 cents.

I’m a lash artist considering a barber chair. Curious to know which type of recline should get for my barber chair.
Thank You
I love the all purchase chair I bought from Galaxy MFG. I’m using it for microblading, but I’ve seen it used for threading, lashes, styling. Mine is called the Bellagio but I believe they make other models that are similar. I’ve had it for about 8 years now, no problems…probably because it’s American made.
Thank you for the awesome advice! I couldn’t find the website you suggested for the Barber chair, so I did a little digging around and found the correct address is www.astisalonsupply.com
Thank you again for the good read and opinions!

Which barber chair model and brand do you like?
I just love you Maryann! I look forward to your posts. Thank you
I agree I used the table in the beginning went to a hydraulic barber chair I love it I can put my legs under it I can move around I can move the chair around I’m if I get a pregnant client unable to lift it more for her and add pillows so much easier to use I highly recommend a hydraulic barber chair that goes all the way back.
Hi Jody,
It’s definitely a challenge trying to find the perfect chair or bed. Many lash techs use recliners and put them on a base that elevates them so you can get your legs under them in the recline position. Just keep in mind that you will be lashing every different size, height and weight client. So try out a few before you decide. Many furniture stores offer a variety of prices and styles to choose from.

A smooth, flawless wax can leave your skin looking and feeling incredible, but proper aftercare is essential to maintain those results and keep your skin healthy. Freshly waxed skin is more sensitive and needs extra attention to avoid irritation, redness, or ingrown hairs.
