One of the easiest ways to grow your beauty business isn't always finding new clients. Sometimes, it's paying closer attention to the clients who are already lying on your lash bed.
Your lash clients are already there. They're comfortable, relaxed, and you have a built-in opportunity to learn more about them, their routines, and their beauty goals. That conversation during those first 20 minutes of a lash appointment can be incredibly valuable.
And sometimes, it can lead to a whole new service.
The best service recommendations don't feel like selling. They feel like listening.
When I'm talking to a client during their appointment, I want to know more than just what lashes they want. I want to learn about their lifestyle and their everyday beauty routine.
Those little conversations can tell you exactly what services might make their lives easier.
For example, imagine your client casually says: "I swear my brows are getting so thin. I have to fill them in every single morning."
That is your opening. You can simply say: "Have you ever tried a brow tint? It might be something you'd really like. It can add more definition to the hairs you already have, so your brows look fuller and you may not feel like you have to draw them in as much every day."
Now you're not selling them something they don't need. You're offering a solution to a problem they just told you they have.
When you're ready to add tint to the menu, keep a pro formula on hand like GladGirl Professional Liquid Brow Tint (and shop the full eyebrow tinting collection). Always patch test, follow your training, and stay within your local regulations. These are professional products for trained beauty pros, not for self-use at home.
Your clients are already spending time with you. Use that time to actually get to know them.
You might start with simple questions:
Their answers can reveal so much.
Maybe they hate filling in their brows. Maybe they love their lashes but feel like their brows don't match. Maybe they want to look more put together without wearing much makeup. Now you have information you can use to recommend services that actually make sense for them.
Protect the consult with clear paperwork from GladGirl's eyelash and eyebrow consent forms before any tint or brow service hits the brow.
A brow tint can also be the beginning of a larger brow conversation.
If your client loves their tint but wants more shape, fullness, or a brushed-up look, you can introduce brow lamination.
You might say: "You have really pretty brow hairs, and I think you would look amazing with a brow lamination. It would give them more direction and help create that fuller, lifted look without you having to spend so much time styling them every morning."
One service naturally leads into another.
And that's the beauty of building a service menu around your client instead of simply trying to sell individual appointments.
For a complete pro system, I reach for the GladGirl Eyebrow Lamination Kit, or shop the full brow lamination kits and lotions and the broader LashLift and Brow Lamination collection. Finish with Lash & Brow Setting Gel so clients can keep that brushed-up look between appointments.
Your lash clients are also a natural audience for products that complement their lashes.
If you notice your client loves a low-maintenance beauty routine, you can introduce products from GladGirl that work beautifully with their extensions.
For example: "Since you like keeping your makeup really simple, I think you'd love some of the products we carry that work really well with lash extensions. You could get a little more definition without having to do a full makeup routine."
Or if they mention wanting their eyes to look more defined: "Since you already have your lashes done, we can show you a couple of makeup products that will enhance them without interfering with your extensions."
Stock the station with point-of-sale pieces from the marketing for point of sale collection so those product conversations feel natural, not pushy.
Become the person your client trusts when they have a beauty question. When you take the time to listen, you start seeing opportunities that weren't obvious before.
A client who came in for lashes might leave with:
Pay attention to the little comments clients make while they're in your chair.
"I hate filling in my brows."
"My brows have gotten so thin."
"I don't have time to do my makeup anymore."
"I feel like I look tired without makeup."
"I wish I could just wake up and look ready."
Those aren't just passing comments. They're opportunities to educate your clients about services that could genuinely make their routines easier.
So the next time your client is lying on your lash bed, don't be afraid to talk.
Ask questions. Listen. Get curious about their routine.
Because sometimes the easiest way to grow your business is already sitting right in front of you, eyes closed, waiting for their lashes to finish.
And that little brow tint you mentioned? It could become their new favorite service.
