Wednesday Wink - 6 More Tips for Speeding Up Your Lash Time

Wink - 6 Speed Tips

I feel the need... the need for speed! This is not the first time I am touching on this topic. Personally, I'm ALWAYS looking for ways to make faster service time. In a previous Wink, I mentioned three BIG techniques to help quicken up your lashing time... The headband station, taping up layers, and minimizing chatting. Here are six more tips to consider for picking up the pace on your eyelash skills:
  1. Sit up straight to build core strength. Daily, set aside five minutes to do abs and booty toning. Just one minute of feeling the burn can make a huge difference. After ten days of discipline you will feel different!
  2. Invest in your chair and table, and LIGHTING. These are not places to save money! Tables and chairs are not 'one-size-fits-all'. Consider your height and size... When you sit your knees should not be higher than your hips. The table should be about as tall as your breastbone, sitting down. Because nothing is as important as your light, here is a link to my favorite that I even take on my house calls.
  3. Be present. Breathe deeply, calm your mind. The less you allow thoughts to be running through your mind, the more present you will be. With a quieted mind, time expands and you can accomplish more. Don't focus on the end goal.
  4. Have backup tools. Despite attaining movement and grace though my pilates practice, I still drop things all the time!! I like to have a backup pair handy so time is never burnt doing damage control.
  5. Use sound cues. I love having sound to prompt me on the passing of time. Constantly glancing up at the clock wastes time, but this keeps me on track and also contributes to the feeling of time passing quickly.
  6. Pre-made volume fans! DIY prep! Spending an hour once a week making fans to have on hand is a great tool for staying on time. Our ‘best’ is different everyday - help yourself out by having a back up. Be sure to use minimal glue because it's going to be dipped again.
I hope you find these six tips helpful. Please share any of your own ideas in the comments section below. Until next wink ;) xo
