Sitting at my computer, I listened to the rain fall outside, with my oil diffuser letting out wisps of lavender, peppermint and joy. Feeling relaxed and happy, I began to think about about the connections between essential oils and beauty rituals, which go beyond general healing properties as we know them. Essential oils have incredible properties for healing that I want to share with you. Before we delve into their beneficial properties, it's important to know that if you are going to try these tips at home, you shouldn't apply essential oil alone. It needs a carrier oil like coconut or jojoba oil to avoid irritation. Easy enough to do, right?

Bacteria Fighting Oils

Let's start with Tea Tree Oil. This is a natural oil that fights and kills bacteria. You can apply a combination of Tea Tree and Coconut Oil to help with acne, nail fungus, dry scalp and even take the sting out of bug bites! Taking care of our skin, which is the largest organ of our bodies, is 100% a necessity.

Brightening Oils

To brighten your skin, take Rose Hip and Jasmine Oils and mix them with a carrier oil to let the rejuvenation begin! Due to the vitamin C and Lycopene in the Rose Hip Oil, this combo will help improve your skin's elasticity, bring your skin back to life and improve stretch marks! The smell alone will send you to heaven!

Anti-Aging Oils

Some great anti-aging oils are Geranium, Patchouli and Frankincense. Geranium oil can help with skin cell turnover and skin tightening - yes please! Pachouli and Frankincense can offer help with oiliness, eczema and other skin conditions. I love using natural ingredients for beauty remedies!

Moisturizing Oils

I used a combination of almond and olive oil on my son's scalp when he was born to help with his cradle cap. Almond oil can get rid of dead skin cells, act as an exfoliator, even out skin tone and help out with dark sun spots!

Which Oils Are Best For My Skin?

Below is a quick template for figuring out which oils are best for your skin type. Dry Skin: Almond, Lavender, Olive and Coconut Oily Skin: Geranium, Aloe Vera, Ylang Ylang and Roman Chamomile Normal: Rose, Sandalwood and Jasmine To help you relax, relieve congestion, or to simply smell good, just dab on a few drops of any of these oils and you are good to go! These oils not only help you look your best, but may also be a compliment magnet as many of them smell divine as perfumes! Do you have any amazing essential oil beauty tips that we haven't shared? Tell us, we would love to know!

Hello enjoyed the read, this just boost me up in my new adventure I’m about to take. In the process of starting my own natural body scrubs and body butters. Taking it a little slow with those two to see where it gets me. Whats some good advice you would give
