Make It Up Monday 2000 Paris Hilton

The decade of the 2000's...hmmmm, how shall I describe it? Let’s just say that it hasn't been one of our best with respect to beauty. We had FAKE tans galore, think- Paris Hilton- one word...WHOA! Spray tans were a great alternative to the unhealthy, beating rays of the SUN but most of these made you look like an 'oompa loompa'!! Really, this is the nicest way to say it. The over the top SPACE JAM silver catastrophe happening on Paris's eyelids did not help the situation! Ladies gravitated to…. LIPGLOSS, a nice glazed lip look was the 'IN' thing to have. Check out, Jessica Simpson. This gave the illusion of fuller lips but it also gave the illusion that your lips were over shellac-ed and sticky or gooey! Lip Smacker Cherry Smokey eyes and pale lips were also trending in the 2000s but this look was definitely a throwback to an earlier 1960's era. This look will always be a classic in my opinion. Dark rimmed eyes while keeping the lip nude will be on point for a long time to come. Just ask JLo! Finally, depending on who you are and your thoughts on enhancements, the 2000's brought us BOTOX, Juvaderm and Restylane! Some will praise these fillers to the end of days and others want nothing to do with them. A lot of un-emoting going on during this era due to the lack of NORMAL facial lines!! Reading someone's expression became a topic of discussion and laughter. Again, the presence of this in our society has become a bit, too expected, in my opinion. I believe laugh lines are indicative of a good time...I believe most lines on the face can represent stories and life lessons that shape us into who we are...but hey...that's just me! What is your beauty ideal? Looking at every magazine picture or watching the Real Housewives of, whatever county, can't be the only sources for shaping an idea of beauty, right?! So we can toss out fake tans and, thank god lip-gloss has come a long way. Give a wink and a smile ( if you can and your face isn't too tight ;))) to the smokey eye / pale lip.
