Instagram is one of the social media platforms that has taken the world by storm. Over 600 million followers can't be wrong! I know for me, in the beauty industry, Instagram is a game changer. People - along with brands - can now have a broader and more extensive audience of not only friends and family, but also potential clients and business connections from around the world. The possibilities are endless! At its core, it's a FREE way to communicate, explore and be creative with pictures and videos.

Curate Stunning Visual Content

With our iPhone devices, we are all photographers, curators and storytellers with this app. When I was introduced to it, I was such a voyeur... I still am. I was dazzled by all the talented makeup artists out there - professional or not. Even more than FB, I felt that this medium was where I needed to be. Don't get me wrong, FB is still a great and valid space for brands, businesses and people, but visually speaking... Instagram is the 'JAM'! You post pictures or videos that you want to share... You edit them the way you want, and you caption/hashtag/tag people during the process. You not only showcase what is moving you at the moment, but you are hoping that others are moved too - moved to 'LIKE' the picture or give it an emoji face when viewing. By the way, the heart emoji is the most used on Instagram so spread the love whenever possible. :)

#Hashtag Power

Your post can capture the 'eye' of a potential client, elicit inspiration from all corners of the world, and bring someone's life into your hands. The hashtags used can be searchable, and if you are using popular ones to be seen more then try hashtagify.me. The website is a great resource to jump on and use. You can choose to follow people by turning on your POST Notifications and you will be notified as to when they post so you can be up to speed on any and all goings on. The editing possibilities are awesome, even inside the Instagram app itself, the options are abundant. And when you hear and read a statistic like 80% of Instagram followers follow brands and of that 30% have shown purchase follow through from seeing a product on Instagram, this type of power can't be denied.

Be Inspired

The positive influencers in beauty, travel, tech, food and so on is quite remarkable. In this day and age, you can feel awe-inspired from a post with only words of encouragement to pictures of products that make us feel, 'I need, want to try or must see for myself'. Overall, Instagram is a fantastic way to experience everything! It's like Pinterest, but better. I feel you can find people easier and just get LOST in scrolling to see what awesomeness lies beyond. I feel like Instagram is only going to get better and add more interesting features, like automatic face recognition and tagging perhaps... or maybe they will add a feature that helps you create your post with Instagram - creating it automatically, and then you can see if you like it or not or want to make changes. I don't know, just spitballing here. :) If you find yourself still on an Instagram-high... Are you still posting your work? Do you find it pushing your creative boundaries in the hopes that the followers will come? Do you find yourself connecting with other LASH-addicts or lash artists and following them or even using them professionally as a client? Tell us your....#lifeandlashgoals
