As this is Thanksgiving week and given the meaning of the holiday, I’m taking the opportunity to introduce a few charity organizations that give back with beauty. Please take a moment and if you are able to donate product, time or a few extra bucks. We all would like to feel good/ beautiful even when faced with challenges.
This fab organization brings beauty home to clients and accepts new and unused hair, beauty as well as grooming products. Beauty Bus travels to events and can set up shop on site as well as at private homes. You can volunteer as a beauty professional or a beauty ambassador to help spread the word. This non-profit is based out of LA but if you are outside of LA, this is not a problem, you can still take part. Beauty Bus provides at-home services for chronically or terminally ill men, women and children along with their caregivers. Beauty Professionals with their designated Beauty Buddy Volunteer from the organization goes to the individual house to create some brightness and magic. It's a beauty home run!! This non-profit helps to empower women by giving them the tools to network, go on interviews and feel confident in the process. Dress for Success accepts new or gently used suits, other business appropriate attire, accessories, unused makeup/skincare and more! There are local affiliates all over. This is a great way to give someone a renewed sense of self that may have fallen on hard times. Their new campaign #GivingShoesDay is fast approaching on November 29th where the top 10 individual donors get a $75 gift card to Shoedazzle!
3. Your Local Women's Shelter
Many women find themselves using a shelter as a transitional home from domestic abuse to other horrific circumstances. Finding themselves in desperate circumstances these brave women are in need of supplies of all kinds.. Donations of clothes, blankets, food, money and any unused beauty items are greatly appreciated. Give today! Giving back to our communities is such an integral part of our society. We need to stick together and help lift up those who have fallen. I hope during this holiday you will choose an organization to donate to personal time or supplies. Be a 'DO GOODER' and help the world become a better place.
